"Cooking is like love. It should be entered into with abandon or not at all." ~Harriet van Horne
Bathed in light, Home Hill's dining room, with dramatic floor-to-ceiling French doors, is awash in country reds and yellows. Elegant furnishings and custom-designed chandeliers create an elegant atmosphere, and the working fireplace creates a cozy dining experience.
Farm to table is our passion at Home Hill Inn. Chef Paula Snow is a firm believer in being connected to the products and cuisines that fuel her creativity. She has been a member in long standing of WWOOF (Willing workers on Organic farms) and takes time out to travel and work on farms to gain hands on experience with her larder before it hits the delivery door. Paula has recently returned from a six month culinary pilgrimage to Europe where she spent time immersed in the cuisines of many different countries. While backpacking through Europe she worked on vineyards in France, a famous cheese maker’s estate in Italy, exotic gardens in Greece as well as other farms and restaurants in 12 countries. She has also travelled and worked in Australia and North Africa. “When I create a dish, it's inspired by the things I see, taste and experience. Spending time in small villages living and working on farms and immersing myself in culture is how I stay inspired and learning. If I put an Italian dish on the menu it's directly influenced by the people and experiences of the countryside, that to me is truth."
